Why we love them
“There exists no ‘they’ and ‘we’, only us. Solidarity is and has to be indivisible”
The words of the former Swedish Prime Minister Olof Palme still ring true today. PRALER (The Planet Repairs Action Learning Educational Revolution) is all about sharing skills and knowledge, as well as unlearning that which keeps us divided, apart – and ineffective.
What they do
Educational revolution! Decolonising! Planet repairs!
They ask: How do we decolonise our thinking and politics so that we can build the future, together? How do we rediscover that when we work together, we already possess the necessary knowledge and skills to repair our common home: the beautiful Blue Planet that holds us in its embrace.
How they fit in the ecology of movements
They educate generations in solidarity instead of war and violence. They advocate learning peer-to-peer, community-to-community. Their foundation is built on respect for other ways of being and knowing: giving the reigns to curiosity and learning from Indigenous wisdoms and the resistance of colonised communities. By acknowledging that communities are disproportionately burdened by the climate and ecological crisis, they are working to make the world more just, peaceful, and equitable. PRALER says:
“It’s clear: faced with escalating attacks on our shared humanity and our common Home, communities everywhere must take back the definition of education to empower ourselves for our collective liberation.”
