HARD RAIN PUBLISHING
The Revolution will be Smart
Hard Rain Books is the publishing arm of Revolution in the 21st Century (Rev21), dedicated to producing groundbreaking texts that catalyse nonviolent revolution and systemic transformation. We publish works that challenge the status quo, offering practical guidance, historical analysis, and visionary alternatives for a just future.
Our publications range from in-depth books to accessible pamphlets, designed to reach activists, organisers, and engaged citizens worldwide. As part of Rev21’s broader mission, Hard Rain Books provides the intellectual and strategic backbone for revolutionary change—bridging research, experience, and bold new ideas.
Yes, we know Amazon’s not ideal, but until we’re further setup it’s what we’ve got.
Want to change this? Step up to contribute – such as by distributing the books!
Our Mission
Hard Rain Books exists to:
Inspire revolutionary action by documenting the strategies, philosophies, and personal experiences of those leading the fight against ecological and social collapse.
Challenge dominant narratives by publishing works that mainstream media and traditional publishers refuse to print.
Educate and train future leaders through accessible, thought-provoking content rooted in historical precedent and contemporary urgency.
Our Focus Areas
Hard Rain Books publishes across key themes:
Revolution & Civil Resistance – Practical guides to building movements, executing nonviolent strategy, and navigating legal and political repression.
Political & Legal Analysis – Investigations into the state’s response to activism, judicial repression, and the failures of governance in the face of crisis.
Philosophy & Spirituality of Revolution – Exploring the deeper moral, ethical, and spiritual dimensions of collective action.
Personal Narratives & Movement Memoirs – Firsthand accounts from frontline activists and organisers.
Publishing as a Fundraising Strategy
Hard Rain Books is not just a publishing house—it is a key financial engine for Rev21, Just Stop Oil, and the wider Umbrella Movement. By producing and selling high-impact books, we aim to:
Generate sustainable funding – Book sales, direct donations, and special editions will provide a steady stream of income to support the movement.
Mobilise supporters – Purchasing a book becomes an act of solidarity, allowing people to engage with revolutionary ideas while directly contributing to frontline activism.
Amplify the message – High-profile books will attract media attention, bringing in new donors and supporters.
Crowdfunded special editions – Limited-run signed copies, prison letters, and activist artwork will serve as high-value fundraising tools.
All profits from Hard Rain Books go directly into supporting Rev21’s revolutionary organising, legal defence for imprisoned activists, and direct action campaigns under Just Stop Oil, Umbrella and A22 Network.
