I find it very alarming that so many agree with the protest sentance. It doesn't matter whether you agree with JSO it matters that you have the right to protest....this is a legal overreach and we should all be worried.

Farewell democracy and the right to protest. The price is a sentence of five years. So, what are you going to do about it @YvetteCooperMP? https://t.co/xltfuaFOBK

The right to protest is a critical element of any democracy. While we do not condone any action that breaks the law, we are shocked by the harsh sentences passed down to @JustStop_Oil activists, while those polluting our planet continue to go unsanctioned.https://t.co/AWEROyZjRC

"These lengthy jail sentences for people seeking climate justice should increase the alarm over the ongoing crackdown against peaceful protest in this country" - @AmnestyUK's @TomSoutherden

This is a draconian approach to civil disobedience.

The right to protest is under threat.
5 Just Stop Oil activists receive record sentenceshttps://t.co/Vbba8HbgYk
The lengthy sentences on the 'Just Stop Oil' protestors are grotesquely disproportionate. As for the judge forbidding them to explain why they were protesting, it looks. like fascism. I deplore it.
